Our Team
Dr. Tom Vogel grew up on the southern shore of Lake Michigan in a small town in northern Indiana. During high school, he was the quarterback of the football team, shortstop on the baseball team, and a member of the National Honor Society.
He graduated 27th out of almost 1000 students in his high school and because of his background as an Eagle Scout, pursued a career in wildlife management and conservation at Purdue University. He also played center forward on the Purdue soccer team during his four years as a Boilermaker and graduated in 1973.
After leaving Purdue, Tom worked for the Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District/USDA in the Cincinnati area. Tom also did radio and TV shows for the district, led nature hikes, designed outdoor education centers and worked with builders and farmers throughout the county on proper land management. He also owned and operated a gift/plant store in Hyde Park.
After 4 years of conservation work, Tom moved back to his hometown of Michigan City, Indiana to go into business with his Father, a Master Cutler. The family business was founded in 1909 by Tom’s Grandfather, Kurt Adolf Vogel, in Chicago.
In 1980, Tom decided to go back to school and enrolled in the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. After 4 years of graduate school he graduated, Magna Cum Laude. In 1985, Dr. Vogel then returned to Cincinnati and opened the Vogel Chiropractic Clinic in Blue Ash. He also became the “spa chiropractor” for Bally’s Health Club and was affectionately called “the world’s best chiropractor”.
Dr. Vogel’s interests include: playing guitar, physical fitness and landscaping. He is also an avid reader, cross-country skier, musician and he actually learned how to surf in Hawaii at age 50.
In 2005, Dr. Vogel joined the team at Wells Chiropractic and has enjoyed the experience ever since.
He is married to a beautiful lady, Sandra, who owns her own Training & Consulting business. He has a daughter, Lacy who is now married and lives in Indiana. Over 5 years ago Tom bought 2 dogs for his wife’s birthday and he declares that “they are 2 of the cutest ”yorkies” in the state of Ohio.”
Dr. Vogel currently resides in Lebanon, Ohio, about 1 mile from the Little Miami Bike trail. which he frequently bikes and hikes as a way to get “back to the Land”. His favorite expression is “life is just another day at the beach, enjoy the adventure!”.
Keri Steele: Keri’s smiling face is sure to greet you as you walk in for your appointment. She is very friendly and does a wonderful job running our front desk. In 2008 Keri completed Good Sam Hospital’s Nursing Program. She loves her position with us because is an integral part of helping so many patients back to health without harmful drugs or surgery.
Keri spent her childhood growing up on a farm and still lives on 5 acres around Oxford. She shows horses every weekend during the summer. In 2006 Keri won the Championship “Horseman-Horseman” Award and took 2nd and 3rd place in the Ohio State Fair showing horses. She owns two horses and a basset hound. Keri played fast-pitch softball for 9 years and was captain of her cheerleading team all through high school.
Tom James: Tom grew up in Pittsburgh before joining the United States Air Force where he served six years in hospital medical administration. He left the Air Force to attend Apostolic Bible Institute College in Minnesota, earning a BA in Theology. Tom is an ordained minister and pastured a church in Brookville for 17 years.
In 1998 Tom joined our clinic and has run our billing department ever since. He is always very friendly and is extremely caring about helping our patients with any insurance questions or issues. If you have an auto accident or work injury case, Tom is extremely knowledgeable and can help you avoid the pitfalls that so many people make with their cases. He’s there for you as a valuable resource, so please ask him for help if you ever run into a problem with your insurance company or auto/ work injury case.
Tom currently volunteers much of his free time assisting the pastors and staff at Calvary Apostolic Church. He plays softball, follows baseball and football, and is an avid reader. Tom has been married for 32 years to his wife Becky, and they have an 18 year old daughter, Jennifer.
Amber Featherkile: Hi, my name is Amber Featherkile. I am 21 years old. I graduated from Gilbert A Dater High School, located in Western Hills, Cincinnati in 2008. I began cheerleading at the age of six and cheered through high school. My favorite color is pink. I have a cat named Breeber and a pitbull puppy named Smores. I began working for Wells Chiropractic in February of 2011. I love my job and the people I work with.
